Additionally, we made significant strides in reducing Austin’s wildfire risk by:  Working with land management departments across the city and county to prioritize vegetation management;  Protecting 203 structures (at a value of more than $289M) through the installation of shaded fuel breaks within community protection zones;  Assisting city landowners in treating 1,085 acres with prescribed fire;  Conducting 53 individual Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) assessments alongside community leaders and partners;  Leading the state with 21 nationally recognized Firewise USA ® neighborhoods and Texas’s only Firewise Alliance, a collaborative partnership of engaged and empowered local communities;  Hosting 22 wildfire community outreach events and presentations; and  Secured the installation of more than 15 risk awareness billboards in English and Spanish across
